Privacy Policy for TankMate

By default, TankMate stores all of your information - tanks, livestock, plants, water parameters, photos, diary entries, and settings - exclusively on your own device's local storage. You do not need an account to use the app, and everything works fully offline if you never sign in.

Optional account & sync

TankMate offers an optional account feature so you can sign in and sync your data across multiple devices. If you choose to create an account:

• We store your email address and a securely hashed version of your password (never your actual password) on our own server.
• Your tank data is transmitted to and stored on our own server, encrypted in transit (HTTPS), so it can be synced to your other signed-in devices.
• We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising, and we do not use any third-party analytics or tracking services.
• You can stop syncing and continue using TankMate entirely offline at any time by signing out; your data stays on your device.

Backups

TankMate includes an on-device backup feature (separate from account sync) that saves a copy of your data to a file on your own device, and automatically creates on-device safety backups. These stay on your device under your control.

Notifications

TankMate uses your device's local notification system to remind you about maintenance tasks you've scheduled. These are generated and scheduled entirely on your device.

Data deletion

If you'd like your account and synced data deleted from our server, contact us at tankmateapp@gmail.com and we will remove it.

Children's Privacy

TankMate does not knowingly collect data from children. Account creation is intended for users capable of agreeing to this policy.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here.
